Sewage Treatment Plant- (STP)

What is STP ?

Sewage Treatment Plant is a facility designed to receive the waste from domestic, commercial and industrial sources and to remove materials that damage water quality and compromise Public health and safety when discharged into water receiving systems.

Sewage Treatment Plant can be used for large domestic communities ranging from 1 Person to 3000 population equivalent, treating BOD (Biological Oxygen Demand) and TSS (Total Suspended Solids)very efficiently.

Type of STP :
  • Conventional Sewage Treatment Plant
  • Moving Bed Bio Reactor (MBBR)
  • Membrane Bio Reactor (MBR)
  • Conventional Sewage Treatment Plants are ancient technology with an extended aeration mechanisms with two aeration tanks.
  • MBBR is an advanced technology known by attached growth with a single aeration tank by applying a media for attached growth of the biological organisms.
  • MBR is the most advantageous and latest technology involved in the sewage treatment plants. In this technology an ultra filtration membrane module is introduced to the aeration tank with a vacuum pump. The main advantages are the system will be a compact one, with lesser power consumptions.
